Week 1
Reviewed starting point
Confirm the qualified definition, reconciled packages and independent reference cases. Record effort in the existing process.
AGX Finance · Proposed read-only covenant evaluation
Ask Treasury and Controllership to assess one completed reporting period. Compare the covenant calculation with independently reviewed workings, investigate differences and see whether another reviewer can explain the result without relying on its preparer.
Read-only verification · Customer-owned sign-off
Start with a nonconfidential conversation. Describe the covenant, reporting group, reporting date and current sign-off process. We check whether the agreement fits the supported scope and identify any additional work before agreeing an evaluation.
Your team then gathers the existing records and reviews the findings with us. Preparation, review time and costs are estimated after scoping. A wider pilot is a separate decision.
The evaluation runs alongside your existing process. It changes no accounting or banking records, submits no lender certificates and executes no transactions. Your team retains responsibility for interpretation and sign-off.
01 / What to bring
For one completed reporting period, Treasury and Controllership prepare the following package after scope and data handling are agreed.
Customer-created exports can support the initial review; an ERP connection is not a prerequisite. No confidential documents or bank credentials are needed for the first discussion.
The proposed starting scope is net leverage for one already consolidated USD reporting group: debt, unrestricted cash, contractual earnings and permitted adjustments. Your reviewed agreement defines the calculation. The demonstration’s 3.50× limit, 25% adjustment cap and $2 million cash cap are examples, never default customer terms.
Foreign exchange, consolidation, complex debt classifications, acquisitions, pro forma adjustments, cure rights or other material terms require explicit support and qualification. An unsupported term produces a not-ready decision or a separately agreed development scope; it is not silently omitted.
The evaluation excludes forecasting, plan selection, automatic monitoring, lender submissions and legal certification.
Covenant verification stands on its own. Optional planning builds on reviewed covenant constraints, with separate forecasts, permissions and approval. ABL review is complementary where relevant; its availability is not connected to planning.
02 / Before sharing records
The first discussion uses a nonconfidential description of the agreement and available records. Agree readiness work, customer preparation, delivery effort and fees before commitment.
Scope the first check around one completed period. Any additional implementation or source-import work is separately agreed and qualified before evaluation begins. There is no promise of turnkey agreement ingestion.
03 / Your review pack
The separately agreed proposal covers three dates—two historical measurements and one current completed period—over four weeks after readiness and scope approval. Its timetable, fee, customer effort and acceptance criteria are agreed before kickoff.
Week 1
Confirm the qualified definition, reconciled packages and independent reference cases. Record effort in the existing process.
Week 2
Calculate both historical dates, investigate differences and retain the reviewed records and results.
Week 3
Review the current period, challenge an adjustment and expose uncertainty. Resolve, approve and calculate as separate actions.
Week 4
Complete the agreed control cases and reviewer-led repeat runs. Export evidence and assess correctness, total effort, cost and remaining production work.
Every result identifies the reporting period, reviewed version and approval. A breach remains a breach; missing evidence cannot become an assumed answer. Your existing reporting process remains authoritative during evaluation.
04 / Acceptance
These are proposed acceptance criteria, not demonstrated customer results or service guarantees. Confirm the financial and workflow criteria in the signed scope before seeing results.
Agree control cases before kickoff: within and outside the limit, exact equality and a one-cent boundary, missing evidence, and duplicate or contradictory adjustments. Test stale approvals and isolated conditional previews as separate authority checks.
Agree how to compare preparation and review effort with your existing process while preserving its controls. Freeze the target and measurement method before results. A decision to extend the evaluation requires a customer-approved cost case.
Count customer preparation, AGX assistance, onboarding, delivery fees and recurring costs. Report first-use effort separately from repeat-cycle effort. The pilot makes no savings claim from changing a covenant determination.
The pilot tests the specified calculation against the reviewed terms and supplied facts; your signatory retains responsibility for the reporting decision. A correctly identified breach or “cannot determine” result can pass the correctness criteria. It does not establish process value by itself. Unexplained discrepancies or authority failures stop progression even if the workflow appears faster.
05 / Production decision
Automated monitoring and external reporting require separate scope and acceptance evidence. The later planning evaluation below also requires its own qualification; it is not authorized by a calculation approval. Three measurement dates do not establish production reliability, legal compliance or long-term efficiency.
The synthetic CRONUS decision study connects covenant review and the optional payment-and-funding response in one synthetic case. For payment and funding choices, see the separate working-capital pilot.
06 / Optional follow-on: planning
If planning would be useful, build on the reviewed covenant constraints to find the lowest-cost permitted payment and borrowing plan that meets both the cash floor and projected covenant. The synthetic combined example demonstrates that question. A customer planning evaluation needs its own scope, readiness decision, timetable, acceptance criteria and price. It is not included automatically in the four-week review pilot above.
Judge economic value only against a baseline that satisfies the same agreed limits. Giving up benefit to avoid a breach is a visible trade-off, not a savings claim. Customer forecast accuracy, broader refinancing choices and production operation require their own evidence.
For Treasury and Controllership
Describe the covenant, reporting group, available records and current sign-off process. We agree fit, qualification work, preparation, effort and fees before commitment. The first conversation requires no agreement upload or confidential figures.
